Folk heritage Museum

Established in 2001 in Thimphu in style of 19^th century traditional house provides the glimpse of Bhutanese lifestyle and enormous typical cultural and historical items, rural household objects, and other authentic old age equipments. Tourists can book in advance for all those activities performed like traditional way of extracting oil, brewing Ara, roasting, pounding rice and organizing a free air buffet lunch offering taste of the traditional cuisine inside the museum premises only. Menu for the food has the food items from all parts of the kingdom. 10:00 am to 4:30 pm from Monday to Friday, from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm on Saturdays and 11:30 am to 3:30 pm on Sunday. Besides, the museum also organizes demonstrations of rural traditions, skills, habits and customs and educational programs for children.
